PillenKompass is a reminder and tracking app for hormonal contraceptives. It reminds you to take your contraceptive and helps you keep track of your cycle — discreet, ad-free, and without any cloud connection.

During setup you choose your method and when your current cycle started. The app automatically calculates your phases from that information.
No. All data — intakes, symptoms, events, settings — stays exclusively on your device. There is no server, no cloud, no user account, and no tracking. Health data never leaves your device. Only when you open the “Plus” screen or buy Plus does the app connect to RevenueCat and the app store (privacy policy, section 3.2).
If you uninstall the app, all data is deleted. Create a JSON export as a backup first.
You set a daily reminder time. If you haven't confirmed by then, the app sends up to two follow-up reminders at configurable intervals — up to 3 per day in total. The first reminder and the snooze button cost nothing; the second and third stage are part of Plus. Once you confirm your intake, no further reminders are sent for that day.
You can snooze any reminder by tapping "Remind me later".
When discreet notifications are enabled, the notification text contains no direct reference to contraception or health — for example "Time for your daily routine" instead of "Take your pill". This keeps the reminder inconspicuous if someone else sees your lock screen.
With Plus you can set the notification text completely yourself.

Use the "Send test notification" button in Settings to check whether notifications work at all.
Yes. You can set a primary reminder time and up to two follow-up reminders. Follow-up reminders are only sent if the intake has not yet been confirmed. They are part of Plus.
Tap the large confirmation button on the home screen. The intake is recorded for today and reminders for that day are deactivated. You can also confirm directly from the notification.
You can add or remove past intakes in the calendar or timeline. Open the corresponding day and adjust the status.
PillenKompass does not provide medical recommendations for missed doses. Please read the package insert for your product or consult your doctor.
PillenKompass distinguishes two phases:
In extended cycle mode there are no regular breaks.
In Settings you can enter your current supply (number of tablets, patches, etc.). The app deducts one unit each day a confirmed intake is recorded and warns you when stock drops below a configurable threshold, so you can reorder in time. Entering and counting your supply and the warning are free; choosing the threshold is part of Plus.
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security and enable app protection. Unlocking then uses your fingerprint, face recognition or your device passcode — the app does not manage a PIN of its own. After more than 30 seconds in the background, the app locks and asks you to unlock it again when you return; a shorter switch does not lock it.
Go to Settings → Data & Backup.You can export your data as a JSON file (free). With Plus, CSV export and a PDF report are also available.
The JSON export can also serve as a backup — you can re-import it later via Settings → Data & Backup → Import.
All locally stored data is deleted. Since PillenKompass does not use cloud synchronisation, there is no way to restore data after uninstalling — unless you created a JSON export beforehand.
Plus is the paid subscription with extended features:
Intake, cycle tracking, calendar, the first reminder with snooze and late window, supply counting with the low-supply warning, travel mode, the app lock and the JSON export cost nothing. If you installed PillenKompass before 1 October 2026, you also keep the second and third reminder stage, the snooze interval choice, delivery as an alarm (Android), the low-supply warning threshold and the calendar beyond next month for free.
Billing is handled through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play.

The subscription is managed through the respective store and can be cancelled at any time:
After cancellation, Plus features remain active until the end of the paid period.
